WELCOME to my Site!
I was born in Bangkok, Thailand where I lived the first 3 years of my life. My father was in the Air-Force (SPF Down Pilot Rescue) during the Vietnam war. We lived in a village instead of Air Force housing, my mother was a native. We came to the states when I was around a year old and my parents gave birth to my sister.
We stayed in the states a short while, my father had to return to duty.
My mother, sister, and I followed a few months later. Shortly after our return my mother was attacked and I found her laying on the kitchen floor bleeding, she was 6 months pregnant with a baby boy that did not survive.
She was taken to a local hospital where my father came to her. She was doing better but she had passed by morning. When my father arrived he found that the hospital had stripped her of her wedding ring and would not return them stating property of the state.
He took her body to have it autopsied by the Air Force and never spoke of it again. Till this day he will say when my first wife was killed…
Within the next few days, he made plans to get my sister and me out of the country.
During that journey, we were looked after by Connie Chung. At that time my dad had not slept and we were basically staying at the airport waiting to fly out. She and her husband were there doing a story on the war and offered to take us so he could get some rest.
On the flight into LA, we sat beside Barney Fife. Is anyone old enough to remember the actor who played him? Now I am really showing my age, lol. He played with my sister while my father and I slept then carried her off the plane into the airport.
These are some of the recollections from my father as he told bits and pieces of our story throughout my life but never has he told them all at once. There are still some things he will not say.
I have an uncle who’s a monk and aunts and cousins in Thailand that I would love to know. We never returned to Thailand, so I only know my fathers side of the family. I wish I knew my mothers’ side too. Maybe one day…
We moved to MS, the deep south where my dads family resides. He was still on active duty but was able to transfer to Louisiana for his last tour of duty. My sister and I were left in the care of our grandparents, aunts, and uncles. My dad is the youngest of 10 kids.
I had to learn English on the fly because my mother and father were the only others who spoke Thai. I did not speak any English AT ALL and my sister wasn’t even crawling yet. Can you imagine a little bi-racial girl who looks nothing like her family living in the deep south not speaking a bit of the language?? I was a HELLION, lol!
My father remarried a woman he met in Louisiana and they are still together.
I loved my grandparents and all of my aunts and uncles from them I learned to cook, sew, quilt, and make the most of what was available to us. We weren’t rich by no means but we were loved. My sister and I spent our summers with them. We stayed outdoors, we had no interest in TV.
Living in the country is what sparked my love for the outdoors, uncles and Papa who taught me to fish, aunts who taught me to sew and how to conduct myself, Big Mama taught me how to quilt and they all taught me respect for my elders and myself.
The history behind my grandparents
I remember my grandparents along with many others on our dirt road were interviewed as research for the making of Mississippi Burning. I sat on the porch swing alongside Big Mama as the interview unfolded. The church Mt. Zion Methodist was burned down during the civil rights movement by Klansman.
My grandparents along with others were having bible study. The Klan thought they were rallying up folks to vote. They set the church on fire then beat anyone that ran out. My grandfather was one of those who was beaten.
He suffered a pinched nerve in his back which paralyzed his leg. The hospital mainly accepted whites back then so my grandfather did not receive treatment. They patched him up good enough to take home.
Martin Luther King Jr. came to our home to pay his respects and to speak with Papa about the incident. It is written about in Witness in Philadelphia by Florence Mars.
That is a cliff note into my childhood. Now let’s jump to today!
I was a single mother of one son who is now 21 yrs old. I finished my degree in HR Management while working in Finance and have been in corporate America for over 20 years. I have worked in Newspaper, Radio, now Manufacturing. I admit I truly enjoyed the entertainment industry and its diverse characters. No day was really the same. The manufacturing industry is a lot different. I do not feel like I fit and that feeling is why I have changed my focus to one of my passions.
I have always had a passion for writing. It’s time for me to put my energies into what I love and what I can share with others. I have had a wide range of interests and I’ve done most.
I enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, arts and crafts, cooking, fashion, traveling among other outdoor and creative outlets. I also have interests in multi-racial hair care, gardening, organic body products, makeup, and organic foods.
I am still evolving.
About four years ago I was told I was borderline diabetic. From that news, I went through a complete lifestyle change. I started eating healthy, got into cross fit and began working on me, physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually.
A year ago I stopped eating red meat & poultry, only freshwater seafood, and only organic fruits and vegetables. Wow! What a difference that made! I definitely recommend it. I will not say it was easy but it was worth the change… for sure. I was at a size 14, I am now a size 4. I am the same size I was in high school. I got into kickboxing then cross-fit. I enjoy how working out makes me feel and look.
Besides this website and the dog business, I also sell new and gently loved fashions from my boutique at https://poshmark.com/closet/sharee_cole. Come by and visit sometime!
In 2017 my “I” became “we” and we combined our knowledge and passions to create an “us”. The hubby has been breeding dogs most of his adult life. Today we breed Micro American Bullies. The amount of time and work put into the care and training of these animals can only be done by someone with a love and passion for it.
We have 3 males and 5 females; puppies and grown dogs.
Our dogs are healthy, happy, well tempered and trained. He does all of it himself; we are registered with UKC, USBR and few other registries. Their lineage can be googled.
We co-own two of the puppies with our vet; a chocolate-tri (Levian) and a black-tri (Dopey), both of which live with us.
Hubby is a third generation concrete finisher and does excellent work. He is detailed in everything he puts his mind to doing. I will be drawing off of his experiences as well in some of my posts. This man has pushed me to do what I love and I very much appreciate him. I have known him since he was 19 and I was 23. We were old enough to know this was something special but too young to act right. Amazing how the universe works! Ten years later the universe brought us back together. This time we were ready.
We are building an empire for us and our kids. A legacy to pass on to them. The dog business was originally started by him and his son.
I believe in affirmations. I have seen them work for us first hand. One that the hubby and I say is: We have a million dollar kennel breeding $500,000 micro bullies that we sell for $500,000. We are traveling the world delivering our $500,000 micro bullies to our customers.
Believe in you and what you are building. The universe will have to answer! It’s called The Law of Attraction.
